Top 4 Career Trends on 2013



According to oDesk CEO Gary Stewarts' prediction for the year 2013, many of us won't be commuting to work, we'll get our jobs in through virtual companies through the internet.

Here are the four career trends we'll see in 2013:

1. Specialists
In the past, specialization was not an important factor because there wasn't just enough volume to support it. Today, there is an open potential market for specialists that are greatly in demand.

2. Custom Catered Education
To support specialization, education will become more customized - breaking it down to a smaller and more focused units of learning. Online training will help professionals get the skills they need to become competitive.

3. Analytic-driven HR
To keep up with the competitive business online, business that are using data to streamline the process will start looking for flexible teams that they can adapt as dynamic change.

4. New skills that doesn't exist yet.
If next year will be all about specialization, the skill to specialize in likely doesn't exist yet.

If this happens then static jobs where you go about doing the same thing over and over again for years will change into a dynamic and more challenging jobs.
